Science in the age of post-truth
That politician like half truths comes as no suprise but that even science is in the age of post-truth (or of narration) is somewhat disehartenint. This paper from Science )Science, ! not new scientist or another divulgative magazine) asks if cyrillic and arabic have something in common. Incredible! All the script in existence, with the exception of Korenan are derived from phoenician, and so onviously they have almost everything in common. Tje paper finds a few regularities among the scripts and then he finds that they are not more marked if the evolution of the aplphabets is followed in time and therefore they must be hard wired in the brain from the beginning This is maybe true, but folow the procedure to demonstrate: I compare alphabets that are essentially the same, I find some regularities, and then I say that these regularities are a proof of a preference in the brain for these regularities. I must say that I read only the journalist's resume, not the paper, but this is actually the same line of reasoning Trump, i like the idea therefore it is true - proving the idea is unimportant.
