Tax evasion and the multiantional corporation

Google was scrutineized by the British government for an alleged tax evasion. The enquiry resulted in a very mild deal for the American informatic giant. The Economist comments on the timid attitude of the British government that this deal missed the opportunity to change the flawed laws on multinational coroporation and adds: "tax diplomacy is the art of possible. But failing to push harder for a radical overhaul, at at time where the planets were aligned for change, looks like a costly mistake." I agree, I only suspect that the British government was too willing to make this mistake.
