It is curious how close is rap music to ancient poetry. Both are accompanied with music, both are based on a strong rythmic structure. There is a strange relationship among African art and Ancient Greek art, in the ancient sculptures of Ife (see http://elforms.com/queenmother/photos.htm), in the (afroamerican) rap. Even writers are substantially calligraphers, and, although calligraphy didn't exist in Ancient Greece, it is a wholly classical form of art.
