Jung and fascism

I love, like everybody, carl Gustav Jung. He is the prototype of the wise man, and the reading of his numerous text is always refreshing. Nonetheless he also suffers from the limitations of the "spiritual" approach. He says for instance that the rise of the totalitarisms in the XXth century is a problem of the soul. Fascism (when Jung writes of totalitarism means also the SOviet Unon but his analysis is more suited to fascism) is obviously a problem of the soul, it literally the incapability to love, but the cure to this illness cannot be neither psychonalaysis nor phylosophy bor religion, the only cure is politics. Man must find the solution to his problems in himself, but this self is fundamentally a social construction. Archetypes are only stones in the building of personality, the design of this construction is largelly social.

Romanticism, nature

In particular after the criticism of Martin heidegger, we tend to believe that illuminism and scientism are the phylosophy of bourgeoisie. But, in fact the phylosophy of bourgeoise is romanticism. Illuminims precedes the French revolution, whereas romanticism arises after. The two are more closely related than usually believed (the illuminis Rousseau has many point of conncetion to romanticism) but the importance of sentiment, of self-expression of individualism, even the importance of beauty are all hallmark of the bourgeois way of thinling. True rationalism has always been the phylosophy of illuminated élites often with marxist background.

This is particularly important in conncetion with the environemntal proble, Much of the approach of enviornmentalist is based on a romantic idea of Nature, This approach is often detrimental ore even harmufl, since the romantic vision of nature, emphasizing the role of "pristine" nature where the blow of the spirit of nature is overwhelming and failing to recognize that ecosystems are not something mystic but a compelx network of relationships regulate by very complex mathematical laws, is unsuited to manage and preserve the ecosystems in an epoch of global impact of humanity on the biosphere, We can set apart a few spots of "untouched" nature, but this is relatively irrelevant to the management of the entire biosphere, which should be the aim of the neviornemntal movement. Lucklily the approach of Greta Thunberg seems closer to that of an ecologist than to that of the old school of environmentalists.

Bushes and stairs

Evolution is obviously a bush, not a stair; but after changing our perspective from the evolutionary stair to the forest of failed innovations, it must not be forgottetn that evolution usualli actually leads to higher complexity. It is true for instance that human evolution was highly ramified uptoa few thosudna years ago, but that Homos sapiens is eventually the species with the largest brain and the most "evolved" molars.

What happened in Umbria

Analyses of elections rely usually on percentage. This approach could be useful 40 years ago, when the number of voters was very high, but today it is biased by the large and varying number of  asbtensionists.

This is particularly evident with the analysi of electoral results of regional eelctions in Umbra a f ew months ago. These results have been interpreted as a consistent shift of the electorate form PD and M5S to Lega Nord. Nonethelss it must be taken into account the fact that the number of  asbtebtiobnist was drastically reduced. If abosulyte numbers insteat than percentages are taken into account a very different picture emerges.

It appears thaat M5S and the left mantained more or less the same number of electors, with slight decrease that can be attributed probably more to abstension than to shift to the rightm, whereas the right increased  fishing electors among a consistent body of abstensionuists.

The results of the recent elections in Emilia Romagna seem to support this interpretation,

Hippies

In ITalia assoviamo gli hippies alla borghesia, ma non bisogna dimenticare che in America il movimento hippy era fatto da proletari, figli di operai.

Milano

Milano sta attraversando, in forte contrasto con il resto d'Italia, uno strepitoso boom economicvo, ìTutti sono felici, ma il risultato effettivo è che il traffico è diventato paazzesco e l'inquinamento da PM10 minaccia seriamente la saluto pubblico. E nonostante questo la città si propone come modello per il paese. Bisognberà finalemntne smetterla con questo mito della crescita. La crescita ha un senso dolortos e necessario quando si è poveri, ma quando si è ricchi e obesi diventa distruttiva.

Poesia e canzone

Il nobel a Dylan ha suscitato molte critica. La maggior parte sono a dir poco superficiali, ma va tenuto conto che coloro i poeti (quelli che scrivono poesie pià o meno per professione) hanno sempre reputato che i testi delle canzoni non potessero rientrare nell'ambito della poesia. In effetti se scriviamo un testo di canzone senza gli a capo ci accorgiamo che i testi si avvicinano piuttosto alla prosa che alla poesia, in quanto mancano di ritmo e melodia. Prendiamo per esempio "è una musica ribelle che ti vibra nelle ossa e ti entra nella pelle" di Finardi: nonostante le rime è chiaramente un pezzo di prosa.

Ma a questo punto il nobel a Dylan risulta ancora più giustificato, in quanto i testi di questo grande artista sono invece chiaramente poetici, Dylan in altre parole riesce a unire poesia e musica, exploit difficilissimo che lo avvicina agli aedi e a i menestrelli (come del resto è stato detto più volte.

Europa USA

Sull'Europa toccherò prima o poi fare chiarezza. Il problema non è Europa s' o Europa no, perché l'Europa non esiste, p solo un mercato comune (per volontà degli inglesi by the way)): Il problema è chi comanda nel capitalismo globale, e non sono certo i tedeschi, sono gli americani. Ora sbagliare nemico è il più grave errore che uno possa fare. Ci sono quelli, e sono la maggioranza che sbagliano nemico in malafede, perché fanno finta di fare i rivoluzionari ma in realtà non hanno nessuna intenzione di disturbare il manovratore (gli USA e il suo vassallo UK). Poi ci sono quelli in buona fede che sbagliano nemico perché non riescono a guardare la situazione da un punto di vista globale ma solo dal punto di vista del loro cortile di casa- e questi in un certo senso sono ancora più colpevoli

Anno mille

Ovviamente ogni volta che una cosa finisce poi ricomincia. Una famosa testimonianza degli anni immediatamente successivi al mille dice che il mondo si scosse la polvere di dosso e la terra si ricoprì di un candido manto di chiese. In effetti gli storici del medioevo indicano proprio nell'anno mille l'inziio di quella ripresa demografica che mancava dal III secolo d.C e che portò pian piano, con alti e bassi, prima al Rinascimento, poi alla Rivoluzione Industriale e all'Illuminismo. Alcuni indicano la fine del Medioevo con l'incoronazione di Carlo magno nell'800; ma allora si potrebbe forse ancora con più ragione dire che il medioevo finisce nel 1000 e che il periodo dal 1000 a oggi sono mille anni di età moderna

Democrazia

Il PCi al primo cambio di nome si è chiamato PDS, wuindi DS, quindi PD. Scherzavo con gli amici che i passaggi successivi sarebbero stati: PDC (partito democratico della coerenza) e finalmente DC (Democrazia e coerenza). Asentire le dichiarazioni di Zingaretti di oggi sembra che lo scherzo si voglia tramutare in realtà.

Wroclaw (per un mio giovane amico)

Stavo a Wroclaw per un congresso e mi annoiavo. Preno tre amici e vado a vedere il Centennial Hall, uno dei capisaldi del primo razionalismo: fulminante, Vedere il vero razionalismo ti fa capire il gigantesco bliff che è stato la tanto esaltata architettura fascista (esaltata solo qui perché fguori dal Bel Paese non la conosce nessuno).
