Mario Draghi was commissioned to prepare a report on the European competitiveness a few months before the European elections, and in this video is presented what was probably the original version of his recommentations.
The main point int the (proabble) original report whas to increase wages in order to support domestic demands, whichs is absolutely needed in an international context of increasing protectionism on the side of the US and China.
But after the European elections, maybe becuase the far right obtained an important success, Draghi resotrte to a much less bold programs, mainly based on imporving technology. What anyway remained from the original idea is to reinforce the European Union and to increase European spending.
