Arti minori

Le arti minori sono minori perché non hanno l'aura; del resto sarebbe difficile mangiare in un servizio di piatti con l'aura.

Come vedono l'arte i primitivi?

Nel post precedente mi chiedevo se i Dogon o i Cro Magnon perceepivano l'aura delle loro bellissime opere.  A leggere Malinowski, che dà una rappresentazione vivissima della della Weltanschauung "primitiva", viene proprio da pensare di no, perché non sembra proprio, stanto al grande antropologo, che i trobriandesi abbiano la dimensione del sacro. il magico e il mitico esistono, ma sono fenomeni in fondo essenzialmente materiali. Del resto anche Aristotele intende l'arte come riproduzione di immagini, non come qualcosa di sacrale.

Aura

Nel post precedente smitizzavo un po' Benjamin, però nessuno può negare che il concetto di aura sia utilissimo: l'arte è auratica e la'rtigianato no (strano che Benjamin fosse marxista).  Considerando che prima grosso modo di Leonardo e Lorenzo il Magnifico, quindi fino agli ultimissimi anni del '400 non c'era distinzione tra arte e artigianato c'è da chiedersi se sia qualcosa di intrinseco o sia un modo di vedere il prodotto creativo sviluppatosi solo in età moderna. L'aura la vediamo nelle maschere Dogon e nelle pitture di Lascaux, ma c'è da chiedersi se i Dogon e i Cro Magnon ce la vedessero, nonostante le ovvie implicazioni sacrali di tale produzione. Non credo sia poi così difficile rispondere: basterebbe chiedere ai Dogon o ad altri grandi artisti "primiviti".

Aura

In a recent post I wrote that pieces of art that don't share power don't have aura. Does this mean that art is not intrinsic in the piece of work, but is in the eye of the watcher, not the individual eye, but in the collective eye?

Aura

At last I visited the MAXXII, because I wanted to see the exposition of Michelangelo Pistoletto - a great artist, would he be born outside Italy, he will be famous as Damien Hirst or Jeff Koons, but perhaps he doesn't care. The museum is dedicated to italian art after 1980, and I was impressed by the fact that the fine works here exposed are often very poetic, but they lack the aura that I instead found in a work of the Chapman - one of the two only foreign artists present. What is thus aura? The works of the italian artists were more creative, and the fightful figurines of Chapham are somewhat artistically cheap, but probaby they are more relevant, since they tell us something important about the XXth century. And since their quotation are much higher, so that they share the aura of power.
