I quote a passage I read on the web:
We can thus distinguish between two types of Lacanians: Oedipal or Talmudic Lacanians and post-mastery Lacanians that work on the premise that “there is no Other of the Other” and that “the big Other does not exist.” A Talmudic Lacanian is a Lacanian that restricts their discussion of Lacan and clinical practice to what Lacan taught, treating him as a master or Father who knows the truth, and endlessly interpreting that text in much the same way that the Talmudic scholar endlessly interprets Talmud without ever adding anything to it. The post-mastery Lacanian, by contrast, holds that Lacan showed us the way in terms ofhow he read and interpreted– for example, we get something entirely new in his way of approaching Freud, not a rote repetition of Freud –and in terms of how he worked with the mathemes. Recognizing that every Father or Master is castrated, that they’re allshams or imposters and semblances of mastery, the post-master Lacanian recognizes that Lacan said many valuable things, but that he didn’t say it all— indeed, Lacan constantly emphasizes that no one can say it all because “truth can only be “half-said” –and works with his teaching not as a closed system, but as a generative methodology for generating new insights that are remote from anything Lacan himself ever articulated.
This is even more true of Marx: there are talmudic marxist that endlessy repeat the words of the Master only permuting them, and (a minority of) marxists that think marxism is a method, not a doctrine. Good examples are Lenin and Wu Ming. But the same is true of many master, such as Aristotle or others. In (good) science masters are always discoverers of a method (Netwon for instance).

My kingdom is not of this world
In the time of the life of Christe, the zealots was a groups of jews fighting against Rome domination. They were in other words the terrorists of the time. Christ was probably sympathetic with this group; in the Gospel of John is said that "they" (probably the zealots) wanted to take him to make him king. "My kingdom is not of this world "(John 18:36( means "I sympathize with the zealots, bu I am not a politician, my field is the spirit".

Marx, Hegel, filosofia e prassi

The older and the younger
From 1848 to 1977 the young was wiser than the elder, since science, economy and society progressed at sku-rocket spped. But today, the generation of 45-50 is wiser than the Millennial, I reckon, since this amazing progress has slowed down (even computer revolution is in its mature stage) and experience matters again, as mattered for millennia before the Industrial revolution. And the youngsters, at least the more intelligent ones, ask the elder -at least the more intelligent, to transmit to them wisdom, experience, and the sense of history. At least this is my experience.
But perhaps I am completely mistake and other wonders await us.

Tax evasion and the multiantional corporation
Google was scrutineized by the British government for an alleged tax evasion. The enquiry resulted in a very mild deal for the American informatic giant. The Economist comments on the timid attitude of the British government that this deal missed the opportunity to change the flawed laws on multinational coroporation and adds: "tax diplomacy is the art of possible. But failing to push harder for a radical overhaul, at at time where the planets were aligned for change, looks like a costly mistake." I agree, I only suspect that the British government was too willing to make this mistake.

Reinessance, Protestant Reform, rise of capitalsim and bigotry
The standard interpretation of the Protestant reformation is that it was a trmendous stimulous to modernity and that the Protestant ethic is at the base of the rise of capitalism. But it can be read another way round. Capitalism was already born in XIV century in Central Italy, in particular in Florence and in Siena but also in other "liberi comuni" (free municipalities). The tradesman that at that time ruled Florence and Siena braught a rediscovery of Ancient Rome and the art and sciences of the Paganism. Reinessance menans indeed rebirth. The Catholic Church adopted enthusiastically this rediscovery, but the peoples of the north, in particular the Germans, understood this embracing of the Ancient world of paganis, In other word, the Protestant Reform was an act of biogrtry.

Crise, fall in the rate of return, and undercomsumption
Marx, in his book the Capital. predicted the collapse of capitalism on two ground. First, he stated that the rate of return will tend to fall as capitalism progress. This idea arouse from the observation that the returns were much higher in the XVI century than in the XIX and economists such as Ricardo or Smith agreed on this. Marx is innovative since he offered an explanation of this fall of returns: with scientific development, you need higher and higher investments to have the same return.
This idea of the falling rate of return was generally overlooked,. but was taken very seriously by the importan economist Schumpeter. He said that the fall of returns can be offset by innovation, which alters the organic composition of capital. We are in an age of general capitalist crissi, but return are faboulously high given the high rate of innovation due to infomration technologies.
The second mechanism pointed out by Marx is underconsumption. In the capitalist system, capitalist tend to pay labour force as little as possible, but this means that the base of consumer, which is composed mainly of laborer, shrinks progressively, leading to a crisis of underconsumption. The cires of 2009 was largely a crise of underconsumption.
The route to escape this contradiction was devised by John Maynard Keynes. If the economy as a whole ha a high rate of debt, debt compensates the low level of consumption. This trick worked wonderfully from 1945 to 2008, but, I dare say, it begins not to work any more. The level of public debts is astronomica in advanced countries, and begins to rise also in conutries licke China and Saudi Arabai, and there is probably a limit that cannot be trespeassed.
Anyway, it is amazing how the ideas of Marx have been taken seriously by capitlamis economy, when they are usually dismissed as nonscientific in the divulgation.

Invasive species and xenophoby
The attitude of EU members has changed from a club open to the world to a scared community suspicious of migrants and aliens. Curiously, this change reflects also in the meaasures of nature conservation. On 1th January 2015 enetered into effect the directive on alien species, which obliges the EU members to fight aliens. There is much debate in the scientific community about invasivealien species, but a growing number of scientists is convinced that 1) they are not so dangerous as believed 2) the are almost impossible to eradicate once introdfuced. Mark Davis, an American ecologists, speaks even of "xenophoby" against IAE. Xenophoby against plant and animnals, xenophoby against people who flies from the wars in the Middle East and Africa.

Italian entrepreneurs and poor economic performance with respect to Portugal
I quote a quote of Zingales in the latest number of "The Economist": when I go to a meeting of young entrepreneurs in America I find young entrepreneurs. When I go to a meeting of young entrepreneurs in Italy I see trust-minded kids that are there because of their parents and not of their accomplishments. This is the miracle of Italy: a labour market that is verging to Britain, with the ruling class of Saudi Arabia. And of course the Saudis blame the workers for the extremely poor performance of Italiana economy (Last year growth was inferior to Portugal, notwithstanding the relatively good world economical conidtions-

Checco Zalone, marketinh, Renzi e autarchia.

Symbolism of flowers and death
In this "danse macabre" of the 15th century, what catches my eyes are the flowers in the ground.
In particular, it is interesting that they are the same represented in the basal part of the Deposition Borghese by Raphael: a plantain and a forget-me-not are clearly recognizable. There is also a species with pyramidal flowers which I cannot identify.
The Borghese Deposition is a painting of mourning, so both species are related to death: the forget-me-not to the remembrance od the death, and the plantain represent the "well trodden path" of the christian. It is interesting that the forget-me-not is represented with four petal, like the cross, and therefore in 15th century forget-me-not was not a Myosotis but a Crucifer. In the Borghese Deposition it seems to be Cardamine bulbifera (the flowers are easily identifiable, but the leaves do not correspond well). Probably after tjhe 15th century the name passed from Cardamine to Myosotis.

Euro, welfare, socialdemocrazie, mostri senza testa.
All'Europa manca decisamente una lingua comune.
