Marx Friedman reddito di cittadinanza

Marx non è mai stato così attuale come ora, solo che nessuno si ricorda cosa dicesse.

Ci sono alcuni keynesiani, e tutti gli altri sono monetaristi (ancora!) senza nemmeno rendersi conto di essere monetaristi (tipo i 5 stelle). Il reddito di cittadinanza (non il reddito universale che è una cosa diversa e non so chi l'abbia proposto) per esempio è un'invenzione di Milton Friedman, che era il re dei monetaristi e tutto era fuorché di sinistra, anzi, era consigliere di Pinochet (non so se lui proprio ma comunque sicuramente la sua cerchia).

Nel fantastico mondo dei 5 stelle

La raggi ha spostato una parte del debito di ATAC su un'altra voce di bilancio e ha affermato trionfalmente che "ginalmente" l'azienda di trasporti era in attivo. Il condono fisscale voluto da Salvini è stato ribattezzato dai 5 stelle "Manovra del Popolo" ma sui loro tweet non si trova il condono, si trova un fantomatico reddito di cittadinanza che ovviamente non c'è.

I 5 stelle ovviamente sono solo un caso più sofisticato di un fenomeno globale - ed è più sofisticato perché i 5 stelle sono sostanzialmente la Casaleggio associati, cioè una ditta di web influencing. Raccontare le favole della buona notte, con i buoni e i cattivi e la realtà completamente cancellata dovrebbe funzionare con i bambini (che invece in genere sono molto razionali) non con gli adulti e sentivo commentaotir chiedersi come ciò fosse possibile. Il fatto è che il fantastico mondo dei 5 stelle (e in modo più tozzo quello di Salvini) fa dimenticare la crisi. Si sperava che la crisi avrebbe riportato gli italiani alla realtà dopo 30 anni di carnevale (con le spese accollate ai figli) ma il mondo delle favole serve proprio a sfuggire a tutto questo. Basta fare una apsseggiata in metropolitana - non staccano mai il naso dal telefonino, proprio per dimenticare che non hanno più i soldi per i divertimenti.

Dato che le prospettive economiche - non parliamo di quelle ambientali - sono tutt'altro che rosee temo che il modello casaleggiano non possa che espandersi. Sarebbe interessante andare a vedere che succede dove esiste ancora crescita reale come in Cina ma è tanto che non visito quei Paesi e non è facile farsi un'idea dai mezzi di informazione che sono assolutamente occidentocentrici, anche i migliori come l'economist.

Political whirlpool

The recent rise of populisms and of "red-brownism", of the alt-right, which is highly conservative but quite different from the traditional naist and fascists movements can be explained easily with the fact that the liberal and socialdemocratic left shifted to posiotions of power (and thus to the right) and created a void. Voids are always filled in politics, and this void was filled by these  "new right" movements": The situtaion is anyway a bit more complex and can be better understood with the reference to the usual two axes ordinations of political positions. In this ordination, which is crude and sometimes ideologic but nonetheless useful, there is a first axis right-left and a second axis individualism-communitarianism. The four corners are thus anarchism, lineralism fascism and communism.

In this framwoprk all the left and not only the insitutional left shifted to the bottom, toward more libertarian positions. The radical left shifted "vertically" whereas in the  shifting of the position of the insitutional left there is also a rightward component. The upper left corner remained thus empty and this caused a "suction force" for the right toward the left. In other words we have a sort of "political whirlpool", with the position of right and left rotating around the centre.

The shift toward more libertarian position of the left occurred already at the end of the '70s of the last century, and predates thus the collapse of the Soviet Union which is certainly one of the factors involved in the rearrangement of the political checkerboard.

The fact that the political spectrum is bidimensional and not unidimensional is the reason why "red-borwn" exponent can present themeselves as new progressivist  whereas they are a traditional authoritarian movememnt: the progressive-conservative gradient is in fact on the diagonal from the bottom left to the upper irght. not simply on the first axis which represents left (i.e inclined towards the multitudes) to the right (i.e. inclined towards the elites:

low literacy

The hopeless lack of law literacy of the Italians, even the more educated, has always been a surprise to me. A surprise, since the rule of law was invented by te Romans and the common law which is the base of the rule of law in the Anglo-Saxon world is fundamentally nothing else than the Corpus Juris with some adaptations.
This lack of literacy is probably due to the fact that in Italian high school law is not taught - in fact people following vocational studies, where law is part of the curricula, jave a good basic grasp of the subject. But probably other reasons are also involved - in particular the fact that a few of the fundamental principles of the rule of law, such as "all are equal for the law" is drastic ally at odd with the basic tenets of Italian ideaology.

computer e post-moderno

Anche se l'importanza dell'informatica sullla configurazione attuale del mondo è a dir poco lampante (i cosiddetti movimenti populisti sono per esempio figli dei social), l'armamentario culturale e ideologico con cui maneggiamo questo rivoluzione tecnologica in realtà si discosta di pochissimo dal postmodernismo degli anni '80. Le idee di Noah harari, pere sempio (almeno a giudicare dalla recensione che ne fa l'Economist, che tuttavia di solito è attendibile) in sostanza dice ben poco di diverso da quello che profetizzava "blade runner". Forse il motivo è nel fatto che siamo solo agli inizi, e che l'intelligenza artificiale è ancora assolutamente embrionale (il riconoscimento facciale e più in generale dei pattern è stato un grandissimo balso in avanti, ma la pecora è perfettamente in grado di fare il riconoscimento facciale).

Ecology and chemistry

In the previous posters (I and II) I pointed out the anomaly of ecology where the focus is on statistics instead that on the eponym discipline. Somebody may say that in ecology the general principles are few and that the number of living species and of types of ecosystems is so huge that it is impossible to manage. This rebuttal does not takes into account that also chemical compounds are millions, and yet a chemist is required  to know not only the generalities of the composition of the different classes of compounds  but also the conditions and details of the reactions - otherwise you are not a chemist, you are a middle school teacher of science. Maybe the true reason of the anomaly of ecology is that it is not considered truly a science, and that therefore it is pointless to put in ecology the same effort that chemists put in learning and studying chemistry.

Ecology II

Physicists study physics, chemists study chemistry, biologists study biology. And their training is based on these disciplines. Ecologists, instead, study statistics,.. Maybe the reason is that counting plants and telling birds is not cool, but i believed that the unit of measurement of science is knowledge, not fashionability.

Collapsing bridges, crumblingconcrete

The episode of the collapse of the bridge in Genoa has a deeper meaning than the rapacity of Italian capitalists and poor state of infrastucture in Italy. There was a time when there was an aesthetic of concrete ("béton brut") whihc represented progress and the beauty of modernity. And now we realize that reinforced concrete after only a few decades is crumbling, and that our civilistationsrisks to leave nothing of its architectonical endeavours in striking contrast with the eternity of the pyramids and the Roman aqueducts. It is a sad morale that the objects of the mdoernsit revolution are crumpling and perishable. It seems nonetheless that if concrete is added with some types of organic material it becomes super strong - maybe ecology is treally the answer to the crise of modernity.

Rivedendo accattone quello che più mi colpisce è quanto Pasolini fosse lontano dal PCI (il lavoro visto come un lager, l'esaltazione del sottoproletariato) e vicino invece alla sinistra extraparlamentare.
