Realism in contemporary art

It is not true that the art of XX century abandoned realism. The 12 horses of Iannis Kounellis are more realistc than a horse paintend on canvas (in fact they are the actual horses). The artists of modern and contemporary art are in search of the truth exactly as Rafael, Tiziano and Caravaggio. What these artists abandoned is the search for beauty:
