Žizek and Calvinism

This video changed my mind about Žizek- When he talks about Hegel and Marx and Lacan I see only irritiating jokes. Here I see dialectic, and a profound critique of Protestantism, that is at the very heart of the anglo-saxon vision of the world that in is the very foundation of imperialism and capitalism. In a nutshell, he says that Calvin is right in saying that things are necessary, you cannot purchase your fate as believed by catholics, but that the world was not created once and for all time, adn that his history is wirtten in an ever-lasting book in the mind of god, but is endlessly recreated at each moment. Anyway, I don’t know if he is aware that Buddhism says more or less the same thing.
